Любопытно посмотреть, как с годами меняются предпочтения игроков, в частности: игры с какими механиками чаще оказываются на игровых столах игроков? Для ответа на этот вопрос тов. Pard, как обычно, использовал не субъективные данные (всякие ранги да рейтинги), а конкретные показатели количества игроков, которые играли в разные игры и отметили это на Board Game Geek – всего 6,5 миллионов. Взял полные данные за 2004-2016 годы и просуммировал их по всем годам и всем играм, в которых на BGG указаны эти игровые механики. Вот каков результат негласного состязания игровых механик между собой за эти 13 лет:

Можно очень долго анализировать результаты и причины успеха или неудачи в конкретные временные периоды для той или иной механики (полная статистика приведена ниже), а пока я сравнил, насколько за это время увеличилась аудитория каждой из механик. Данные по наиболее успешным механикам я привёл в следующей таблице.

После названия механики указаны суммарное количество игроков во все игры с такой механикой (в 2004-й и 2016-й года), а также коэффициент прироста. Наибольшую любовь за это время у игроков снискала механика "Создание колоды" – более чем тысячекратный прирост общего числа игроков. Также у игроков хорошо пошли игры с "Рассказыванием историй" и "Размещением работников".

Ну, а теперь – общие данные по механикам. Для каждой из них я привёл диаграмму изменения числа игроков для 5 игр, внесших в популярность этой механики наибольший вклад, а далее – список из 25 игр с наибольшим суммарным количеством игроков за всё это время.
